Did you ever wonder why you are here? As a kid growing up in a single-parent family, I really didn’t have a clue.  Being a poor kid without a dad wasn’t easy. But I had one constant—Christian camping! I was scholarshipped to camp as a six-year-old and haven’t missed a summer since that time.

Camp provided me an outlet. It gave me opportunities to grow and become more confident. I saw Godly examples and I was safe. It’s my desire to provide the same experience for other young people.

Cedar Lake has provided scholarships to many kids and adults every year since 1915. With the difficult economy we find that more guests are needing help then in years before.

My prayer is that maybe, there will be kids or adults that will need a safe place just like I did and they will find it here at Cedar lake and maybe while here they will find a relationship with God as well and be changed forever. 

And they have been! I get letters every summer that tell me how kids and adults have gone home different. I love it!

A middle-aged man ran up to me at a conference and said, “I don’t have much time,” he said, “but I wanted you to know my dad accepted Christ at Cedar Lake in the 1950’s before I was born. It changed him and my entire family—forever.” 

Cedar Lake has an incredibly rich heritage—more than 90 years. God has kept us alive and vibrant today more then ever it seems as though He is doing something new, and we have the privilege to be a part of it…it’s so exciting! 

Every year we have seen more and more kids and adults make decisions for Christ! In the last 5 plus years: several thousand! I could tell you story after story about the boys and girls, men and women from all over the world who have come to Cedar Lake and made decisions.

We want to keep the momentum of what God is doing going and continue to move forward with Him.
