“Come with me
by yourselves to a quiet place
and get some rest.”

Family Camp 2009
July 5-10, 2009
Theme:
"Recharge your Family .. Renew your Vision"

Remember when...

your family was all nice and sweet?
You know…the time when you and your
spouse were just married…in love…no cares in the world? Then you had a child, you were still a nice family, but with a little less sleep. Then there was another kid or two….a house bought, a job loss, a transfer, a teen who wouldn’t talk to you unless they texted you from the other room, a parent ill and the list goes on?

Where did all of the dreams of 2.5 kids, white picket fence and perfect marriage go?
Could they ever come back?
Can something really good come
out of all of this?
Does the dream need to be recycled?

Speaker: Craig Jarvis
Pastor Craig Jarvis’s training began with a one-year degree at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York. Sensing the Lord directing him to full-time ministry, Craig earned a BA in Communication and Bible. While in college he met his lovely wife, Beth.
In 1992, the Lord led the Jarvises to Hessville Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana, where Craig served as Pastor of Youth Ministries until 1996. During his time at Hessville, Craig also served as Interim Pastor (1993-1995) while the church searched for a new senior pastor. The Lord then directed the Jarvises to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1996 where Craig attended seminary. Craig earned his Masters of Divinity at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary while serving as Pastor of Youth Ministries at North Park Baptist Church. He served in this capacity from 1997 until 2001. He has been Senior Pastor at Memorial Baptist Church in Verona, Wisconsin since 2001. He and Beth have four daughters: Abigail, Hannah, Karis, and Rebekah Faith.

Music: Higher Ground
This husband and wife team has performed many genres of music in the past, but for them nothing compares to sharing God's love and faithfulness through song. Responding to God's call, Robbie and Denise formed Higher Ground in 1997. However, a few weeks after the completion of a demo project, Denise gave birth to their first child. Feeling that God wanted their primary focus to be their family, they continued serving the Lord locally, performing at local churches and on several other artist' projects. God began showing Robbie and Denise how to merge their desire to sing for Him with their commitment to family. This couple believes others need to hear that God loves their families too. Their desire is that the audience leaves with an understanding of the gifts of salvation Jesus Christ has to offer and a renewed feeling of joy, peace, and commitment to Him and to their own families. Striving to do God's will and singing for His glory, together the Grimes are reaching for a Higher Ground.
