Our staff wants your stay with us to be a memorable one. Free time for your group might be spent lounging on cozy sofas and chairs in front of an inviting fireplace, or taking a moment of reflection surrounded by nature in one of the gazebos or benches…maybe even relaxing on a charming porch swing overlooking the lake. Find a more active recreational outlet with a match on the tennis court or a pick-up game of basketball.

Oaks Dining Hall

Oaks Dining Hall is located on the crest of a hill overlooking beautiful Cedar Lake in Northwest Indiana. The walks and terraces are designed with plenty of vistas for your viewing pleasure. Take a seat in the lower level deck chairs; listen to the waves lapping against the shore or just pause on the winding walkways to reflect.

Torrey Auditorium

Torrey Auditorium is one of the oldest buildings on site. Set just back from the bluff overlooking the lake, it is one of the original Monon Railroad structures. Renovated in the fall of 2000 with a new foundation, windows, carpet, seating, lighting and sound system, heating and air conditioning, this building is full of history and has been listed on the registry of National Historic Landmarks.

There are a variety of options for comfortable accommodations at Cedar Lake Ministries. We serve all types of groups with lodging ranging from private hotel-style rooms to family-style lodging with kitchenettes, and typical camp housing with rustic dorm-style rooms and bunkbeds. Your choice depends on your group’s needs.

Enjoy the ambience of a crackling fire and fine company. Set on a tree lined crest, lake views on three sides greet you in the 325-seat Oaks Dining Hall. Everyone will find a perfect seat to relax and enjoy a fine meal and conversation. Panoramic views and seasonal beauty provide refreshment for your soul while our award winning culinary staff will delight your palate. Arlyn Walters became the lead pastor of Lighthouse Church shortly after finishing seminary, where he has now served for over twenty-three years. During that time, God has allowed him to lead their church through a healthy revitalization to set aside religious traditions and better focus on serving the local community. In 2018, Lighthouse was gifted the property on Parrish Avenue (formerly known as First Baptist Church) where they now worship. Arlyn is passionate about leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus.

He and his wife Michele have been very happily married for over twenty-seven years. Friends since grade school, they began dating in college. They have been blessed to raise three children. The oldest two (Brett and Jessica) are both getting married this fall, and their youngest (Lyndsey) will soon be finishing her freshman year at Hanover High School.

Arlyn enjoys what he describes as “The Five F’s” – Faith, Family, Football, Friendship, and Finances (Investing). He and Michele enjoy traveling and hiking, where they can explore the beauty of nature. Even when home, they aim to walk three or four miles a day together locally to stay active.
