Summer Staff



Each summer, Cedar Lake Ministries hires around fifteen summer staff members to serve our program through eight weeks of day and overnight camp.  These students must have a desire to serve the Lord and a willingness to be a contributing member of a team that seeks to impact campers for Christ.  Serving on summer staff is a challenging yet rewarding experience that pushes the individual to grow in their relationship with the Lord.


To Qualify for Summer Staff:

  • You must know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. 
  • You must have a willing heart to be used by God wherever He would send you.
  • Your conduct must reflect that of Jesus Christ
  • You must be willing to contribute to a team that seeks to clearly communicate the good news of Christ.
  • You must be willing to commit a full summer to service.
  • You must be 16 years or older.  (Please note that some positions require a higher minimum age.)

College Credit

Available Positions


Camp Counselors

Primary responsibility is the care and supervision of campers during each week of camp, in our Day Camp and/or Overnight Camp. Serve as facilitator of small groups, games and activities, have meaningful conversations with campers while showing responsibility for creating a safe, positive, fun camp environment in our Day Camp and Overnight Camp sessions. Must be 18 years old with one year of college completed. 


Responsible to work under the supervision of Cedar Lake Ministries’ Summer Leadership Team. Supervision of all waterfront related activities such as boating, tubing, swimming, and ensure that campers have a safe and fun experience at the waterfront. Ensuring upkeep of facilities and equipment. Requires active monitoring and enforcing rules to ensure the safety and well-being of campers on the lakefront. May come alongside the Summer Leadership Team to assist in the implementation of daily schedule, games and activities. Minimum age 16.

Health Officer 

Current RN student or current CNA who will provide for camper’s basic needs by overseeing the collection, storage and distribution of camper medication. Prepared to care for minor injuries and equipped to handle major emergencies. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Age 20 or older is preferred. 

Media Assistant

Responsible for working with Media and Marketing coordinator ensuring sound for all sessions, working with speakers and worship leaders on any slide presentations, mics, tv’s – ensuring any and all equipment ready for sessions. Responsible for playing CLM provided soundtrack prior to the session beginning. Capture video and photos of camper’s daily activities, including but not limited to small groups, sessions, waterfront, dining hall, specialty camp, etc. Weekly video prepared and reviewed by Media and Marketing Coordinator to be played during the closing session every week. Soundtrack must be approved by Program Staff. Prefer college student in media/marketing major ages 18-23.

Kandy Kabin Assistants

Responsible to work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator. Oversee the sales and organization of the Kandy Kabin. Will be responsible for keeping the Kandy Kabin clean at all times, ensuring a fun, safe place for campers, Camp Counselors and guests. Must be willing to engage in conversation with campers and guests, serving with a friendly attitude. Ensure inventory is taken in a timely manner and provide purchase list to Program Coordinator by the due date. Music played through sound system will be provided by leadership. Ages 16-18.
